Pure Poetry! We choose the most romantic locations in which to evoke the Muse of Water Media Painting. A hidden studio on the Northern California Coast. In 2010, as the economy recovers, look for a return to Antibes, France and Tahiti, French Polynesia. We love the ancient seaport of Antibes, France on the Mediterranean Sea and our Tahitian bungalows on a white sand beach accessible by water taxi only. A return to Santa Fe is also in the picture. Join us for an art class that nourishes the soul. |

Carol Duchamp, Watercolor, Acrylic & Mixed-Media Collage |
Carol Duchamp's teaching style encourages experimentation and self-discovery in a supportive environment that nourishes the intuitive power of self-expression. Her watercolors are rich in color, lushly saturated and sensual in form, and have been described as 'cosmic, flowing and full of light." She is an exhibiting artist with twenty years of experience in creating visionary art classes to exotic destinations. Class demonstration and discussion include wetting the paper, color flooding and gradation, brushwork, compositional energy, atmospheric effects, edge tinting, textual elegance and the use of watercolor crayon. Wet-into-wet techniques are emphasized. Whether moving in a realistic or abstract direction, class methods for exploring the poetic spontaneity of watercolor will be appreciated. Painting with acrylic wet-into-wet on raw canvas and sculptural collages are among her specialties. Carol holds an MA from the University of Strasbourg, France in French and Sociology. She is currently enrolled in the MA in Transformative Arts program at JFKU in Berkeley. Carol brings to her classes a wide range of technique and focus on the development of the individual artist. Her innovative methods build self-confidence and emphasize wet-into-wet water media techniques. Join in the fun!

| Dear
Artist and Traveler, My Studio on the Mesa classes in Bolinas, Marin County California, continue to be popular with San Francisco Bay Area locals. If San Francisco is your destination, do not hesitate to add a painting day in West Marin to your itinerary. I am adding to my own repertoire as well and have moved into wet-into-wet acrylic painting on raw or primed canvas. This new foray into acrylic painting is as exciting and rewarding as my passion for watercolor. Special emphasis will be place on either watercolor, acrylic or mixed media collage during Saturday classes. See the schedule for details.
With a passion for sharing my passion and skills in the world of watermedia painting, I am also enhancing my skill as a transformative artist and teacher. The healing power of art is no secret to most people and creativity in the workplace increases joy and productivity. As a result of my studies for the MA in Transformative Arts program at JFKU in Berkeley, I have more tips and techniques to share in addition to those I have developed for my own work and as a teacher. Please check out my new acrylic paintings and sculptural collages on the Gallery page of this website. And enjoy! Art
